2015 Nigerian Elections: Osoba, Daniel in secret meeting

Uncategorized

Nigerian Tribune reports that speculation became rife on Tuesday that two former governors of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and his successor in office, Chief Gbenga Daniel, on Monday night held a secret meeting in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The meeting, according to a Tribune’s reliable source, was held at Osoba’s Abeokuta country home located within the Ibara Government Reservation Area.

It was also gathered by the paper that the meeting might not be unconnected with the 2015 general election.

Osoba is the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) while Daniel is a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It was gathered that Daniel’s loyalists including PDP governorship aspirant and former Commissioner for Environment under Daniel’s administration, Chief Anthony Ojesina; former PDP chairman in the state, Elder Joju Fadairo; PDP chieftain, Chief Niyi Adegbenro, were present at a meeting earlier held on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, thousands of aggrieved PDP members will in droves move to the SDP by Friday. The aggrieved members, of the Jubril Martins-Kuye, Dimeji Bankole and Daniel’s groups, are dissatisfied with the outcome of the party’s recent primaries. (Nigerian Tribune)
