Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has set 500 prisoners free in Kano with an undisclosed amount of money for them to transport themselves back to their destinations
The type of offences the freed prison inmates committed were not disclosed. Neither was it disclosed whether they were released from medium nor maximum prison facility.
Buhari, who arrived in Kano city today, Wednesday on a two-day walking visit, made the pronouncement at the government House where governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje received him in audience.
The President advised the freed prisoners, whose identities were not immediately disclosed to be of good behaviour in a free world.
