Chadian Troops Recapture Dikwa Town From Boko Haram

Uncategorized

According to Reuters, the Chadian troops operating as part of a regional coalition yesterday over-powered and drove out Boko Haram terrorists from Dikwa town, Borno State, in the north-eastern part of Nigeria.

A Reuters report quoted a Chadian Army spokesman as disclosing this yesterday, adding that one soldier was lost in the battle.

“We have total control of the town,” Colonel Azem Bermandoua told Reuters. He added that many Boko Haram fighters had also been killed in the clashes.

According to a Reuters correspondent who reports from the scene, black and white Boko Haram flags still flew in the town deserted by residents after several weeks of occupation. (Photo credit: News Express).
