Eight lawmakers dump APC, PPN in Ogun

According to Punch newspaper, eight lawmakers in the Ogun State House of Assembly on Tuesday defected to both the Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party.

The Speaker, Mr. Suraj Adekunbi, during the plenary, read a letter announcing the defection of the lawmakers.

Those who defected are Salmon Adeleke, Joseph Adegbesan, and John Obafemi. They went to the PDP, although elected on the platform of the Peoples Party of Nigeria.

Remmy Hassan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja, who also defected to the PDP, were elected on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria which later metamorphosed into the All Progressives Congress.

Others who defected from the APC to the SDP are Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Oludaisi Elemide and Elizabeth Anifowose.

He said, “I received a letter announcing the defection of Messrs Joseph Adegbesan, Salmon Adeleke, John Obafemi, Remmy Hazzan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja to the PDP, Punch reported.

“I also got three letters this morning from Hon. Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Oludaisi Elemide and Elizabeth Anifowose, announcing their defection from the All Progressives Congress to the Social Democratic Party.”

Adegbesan, Adeleke and Obafemi dumped the PPN to join the PDP while Hazzan and Olowo-Oloja also dumped the APC for the PDP.

He said the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, would November 18, presented the 2015 budget proposal to the state House of Assembly
