As attacks on oil and gas installation continue with no effective security measure on the ground to tackle the ongoing problem, former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday held a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on the way forward to handle the obviously sad situation.

Although details of the  meeting with Buhari was shrouded in secrecy but Presidency insider disclosed to DailyGlobeWatch that former President Olusegun Obasanjo enraged with Buhari’s handling of issues decided to storm Aso Rock to register his displeasure and chided the president for his military confrontation with the militants who, he said, have the right to protest the damage to their region eco-system  but was opposed to bombing of the country’s treasure base.
Obasanjo, the source revealed, expressly told Buhari to cast pride overboard and  urgently engage the militants in dialogue before Nigeria is burnt to pieces.
Recall Vice-President Atiku Abubakar opposed  to military confrontation had chided the president for not wanting to ”learn from the past” – a position which was also upheld in today’s closed-door meeting with Buhari  by Obasanjo.
Another source revealed to DailyGlobeWatch on condition of anonymity said the meeting with  former President Olusegun Obasanjo centred on  the outcome of his  recent international engagements.
Obasanjo, said was in the Villa to brief the president  on the report of the Eminent Persons Group he presented to the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States Summit of Heads of States which ended in Papua, New Guinea on Wednesday.
Journalists were barred from covering the closed-door meeting because of the sensitive nature of the meeting our source added.
