The two men were not seen at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, where the ceremony was staged on Tuesday.

During Fashola’s tenure as Governors of Lagos and Fayemi as Ekiti state governor, both of them played major roles in events organized by friends and loyalists of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, according to made believe, things have not remained the same, as they both fell out with Tinubu shortly before or after the 2015 general election.

Speculations have it that Fashola and Fayemi are building a base in the South-West ahead of the 2019 elections.

For Fashola, cracks began to appear in his relationship with Tinubu during his time as Lagos Governor and it got worse when he lost his bid to pick his successor.
The Minister was rooting for Supo Sasore, while Tinubu backed Akinwunmi Ambode, who went on to win the governorship election in 2015.

The strain in their relationship has possibly rubbed off on Ambode, with Fashola only returning to the State 22 months after handing over, to inspect federal government projects.

Earlier this month, Fashola revealed that Ambode had called him only once since he handed over to him.
