In a series of emotional and revealing posts on Snapchat, popular Nigerian disc jockey (DJ) and dancer, Rachel Oluwabukola Martins, better known as DJ Dimplenipple courageously shared her harrowing experience with an abusive ex-partner, Lami Banks, which spans almost four years.
The DJ recounted the physical, emotional, and psychological abuse she suffered at the hands of her former partner, Lami Banks, detailing incidents of beating, blackmail, and manipulation.
Dimplenipple’s posts came after her partner, Lami Banks went public that their relationship had ended, saying: “Don’t be afraid to start all over again. You may like your new story better. Life is too short to live in denial. Do what makes you happy. Period pook!
“Get your money, mind your business, Love who loves you, Give, but never give anyone more than what they deserve.”
DJ Dimplenipple responded on her Instagram story by saying: “Maybe it’s not always about trying to fix something broken maybe it’s about starting over and creating something better”
She also shared how she was physically abused, and how she was forced to split bills and cover her own expenses, as part of her partner’s financially abusive behavior.
The dancer attached videos and images as evidence, including a clip showing injuries she sustained from the abuse. She expressed her regret for staying in the relationship and her determination to ensure her ex-partner faces consequences for his actions.
Dimplenipple’s brave revelation aims to raise awareness about domestic abuse and serve as a warning to her ex-partner and others who may engage in similar behavior.
