Natasha’s recall petition fails to meet constitutional requirements ―INEC says yet again

News

The petition seeking the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has failed to meet the constitutional requirements outlined in Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), yet again, made this announcement on Thursday via its official X handle.

The commission said: “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).”

Remember that on March 25, INEC said the petition to recall Natasha did not meet constitutional and the other requirements, but they changed that stance when on March 26, the following day, they came out to tell Nigerians that the petition has now met all the requirements.

So, we have to wait to see what their explanation is going to be this time.
