Suspended Nigerian Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has been arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, for criminal defamation
The case, marked CR/297/25, stems from comments allegedly made by the Senator during a live television interview on Channels TV and a public address in April 2025.
According to the government, Akpoti-Uduaghan transmitted “false information” via computer systems and networks—comments which allegedly linked Senate President Akpabio and former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello to an alleged plot to have her assassinated.
The court however admitted Natasha to bail in the sum of N50 million and one surety who must be a person of reasonable integrity resident in FCT Abuja and owns a landed property within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
