African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has said there is no guarantee that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will defeat Peter Obi at the primaries.
He said this on Wednesday while answering questions in an interview on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’.
Momodu was speaking in respect of the defection of Obi and Kwankwaso from the ADC to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Momodu said: “There is no guarantee that Atiku will defeat Obi at the primaries.
“Obi is not my enemy. Okay, so it’s good that he goes and test his popularity elsewhere. So let others also do the same. But you cannot force Atiku.
“How are you sure that Atiku will retain all those who voted for him the last time? What is the guarantee that Obi and Kwankwaso are the only people who will retain all those who voted for them the last time?
“The situation has changed. Tinubu today, if he allows a free and fair election, might not even get three million votes.”
