American actress, singer, and TV personality, Lauren Keyana “Keke” Palmer, simply known as Keke Palmer, is opening up about her commitment to financial discipline, revealing that despite her success, she intentionally keeps her rent at just $1,500, even when she has a million dollars in the bank.
Now in her 30s, Palmer, who began acting at the age of 9, became a millionaire at 12, rose to fame with roles in Barbershop 2 and Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, said her financial habits have always been shaped by a long-term perspective.
In an interview with CNBC, Palmer emphasized the value of living below one’s means, a principle instilled in her by her parents, who earned around $40,000 at the peak of their careers. “I believe in saving and frugality… I don’t play around with that,” she said.
Despite her glamorous appearances, like her recent Christina Aguilera-inspired look at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Palmer says staying grounded financially is key.
