Two suspects arrested for alleged kidnap and murder of female banker after collecting N4m ransom in Nigeria

Officers of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the kidnap and murder of a female Bank Manager after the collection of a ransom of (N14m) Fourteen Million Naira in Onitsha.

A statement from the command on Sunday, June 1, says the operatives, while on diligent investigations, trailed two of the suspects, Monday Egbe, 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, 28, to their criminal hideout in a neighbouring State.

On January 13, 2025, the lifeless body of the victim, Ifeoma, was found along Nnobi Road with her hands tied after the abductors had collected the ransom of N14m  from the deceased’s family.

The command says the suspects are currently undergoing interrogations for more insights into the modus operandi of the criminal gang and the possible arrest of other gang members.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has assured that the Command shall continue to live up to its Mandate of protecting of lives and properties of Ndi Anambra and residents and to ensure that all cases are followed to a logical conclusion and justice served.
