Benue Health Commissioner dies three months after being sworn into office

Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Emmanuel Ikwulono, has passed away.

The late commissioner who was sworn in on August 5, 2020, replaced Dr. Sunday Ongbabo who had earlier resigned his appointment from the State Executive Council, died on Wednesday afternoon, three months after he was sworn in.

Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, confirmed his death to newsmen.

Also, Radio Nigeria, Harvest FM located in Makurdi reported that he died in Jos, the Plateau State capital where he was taken to for medical attention.

A  source from Government House, Makurdi also told Daily Trust that the commissioner died in an undisclosed hospital from complications of surgery for a yet-to-be ascertained ailment.
