Out going President of Nigeria Gooodluck Ebele Jonathan has continued to receive accolades across the globe for conceding defeat to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in Saturday’s presidential election.
US President Barack Obama on Wednesday congratulated the Nigerian President Elect Buhari for winning the 2015 presidential election, and also praised President Jonathan to have conceded defeat.
“President Jonathan has placed his country’s interests first by conceding the election and congratulating president-elect Buhari on his victory,” Obama said.
In a similar development, the President of the Republic of France Mr. Francois Hollande through the France embassy in Abuja has also congratulated Buhari on his victory.
The two presidents have promised to work together with Buhari.
