7 Reasons Why You Must Take Cold Showers

Uncategorized
Cold showerYou might have already heard that taking cold showers is a good thing but you may not know why yet. Today we are going to provide you with the most valuable effects that cold showers may have on your body.

1. Improved Blood Circulation

Showering with cold water is able to improve the blood circulation between your organs considerably. The thing is that you are kind of cheating your body when taking cold showers as you are sending the signals to your nervous system about the danger of cold. The consequences are that blood starts circulating more therefore sending warmth to your entire body. Interchanging cold and hot showers is even a better way to accelerate blood circulation. But if you are a freshman in it, you better start with simply 2-3 minutes of just cold water and proceed with interchanging cold and hot showers with some time.

2. Metabolic Advantages and Weight Loss

Who would ever imagine that cold shower can help improve metabolism? The cold temperatures force your body to re-regulate the body temperature continually, which utilizes many calories. Note that an evolutionarily retained adaptation to cold water exposure is a layer of protective fat. Therefore, get your cold shower short and sweet and then get out. Longer exposure to cold therapy is not necessarily better.

Besides, if you want to keep your body fit, cold showers are a perfect tool to lose some kilos. The human body contains two types of fat tissue – white and brown fat. White fat is accumulated when we consume more calories than our body needs to function. This is the type of fat we all are so much struggling to get rid of. Brown fat is the good fat, which generates heat to keep our bodies warm and is the one to provide our organisms with energy. When exposed to cold this type of fat activates and helps burning the white fat tissues.

3. Improved Immunity System

The improved metabolic processes in your organism lead to issuing of new white cells. White cells are the ones that are responsible for your immunity system strength. So every time you are taking cold showers you are improving the protection system of your body.

4. Better Breathing

There is probably no such person who wouldn’t hyperventilate as soon as he/she gets into a cold shower. And it is a completely natural body response. Remember to always breathe calmly and deeply to avoid panic after coming under cold water flow. It will both help you get used to the temperature and will give you a chance to exercise with your breathing.

5. Increased Testosterone Levels

Many people are in search of increasing the level of testosterone in their blood. And it is better if you use natural methods. Cold showers have such advantages in this area as well. As compared to gym (where you actually can get the highest amount of testosterone in a natural way) cold showers help testosterone to be elevated not only during the shower process itself but throughout the day as well.

6. Softer Skin and Healthier Hair

When taking hot showers, you actually dry out your skin leaving it itchy and sometimes flakey. By taking regular cold showers you will experience less dryness and flaking of the skin and scalp, and softer, smoother complexion.

Hot water strips your hair of moisture that’s why you need additional help to keep its healthy look. Apart from using traditional hair balsams and conditioners try to use cold water as your personal haircare. Make it shiny and soft by simply rinsing your hair with cold water every time you wash it.

7. The Best Vitamin for Your Mental Health

Cold showers have been shown to relieve depression symptoms due to the intense impact of cold receptors in the skin which send an overwhelming amount of electrical impulses from the peripheral nerve endings to the brain. That’s how taking cold showers can help you achieve an antidepressive effect having a positive influence on your mood at the same time.

Another advantage of cold hydrotherapy is its analgesic effect. This treatment includes one to two cold showers of +3 degrees Calcium, two to three minutes long, followed by a five-minute gradual adaptation to make the procedure less shocking

  1. COULD SHOWERS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND LEAD TO DEATH BY SHOCK
i just read in your block about 7 reasons to take cold showers and wish to advise the quack doctor, to stop misleading the public with wrong advise.

How do you expect someone to take cold showers on a cold winter day when the body needed some heat to keep the blood circulating in your arteries? I guess the writer has never traveled out of the Nigerian/African countries to Europe, Canada and some parts of the United States of America to know the full meaning of cold weather conditions or taking a cold showers.

Have you ever been informed that the actual cause of death in cold water is usually the bodily reactions to heat loss and freezing water or loss of core temperature.

Have you ever been told that cold water showers can cause you severe shivering and you may end up in complicated pneumonia leading to death?

When you are taking some medications such as wafarin to thin your blood, you lose a lot of warm required body heat and may need some warm blankets at night time or on a very cold and winter day. Are you advising that we should jump into cold showers under this conditions?

Be very careful of what you put out there to the public, it may come back to haunt you.

Where are our medical experts on web? Please speak up before things get out of control.

    Thanks.
