Peter Obi: What I would do if coalition fail to give me presidential ticket - Businessday NG

Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is deliberately frustrating him, claiming he faces constant intimidation and obstacles in his daily activities.

Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo about his political future, Obi said he was more concerned about his safety than whether he would contest another election.

“I might not even be alive. I’m telling you, every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it. Deliberately so. Everything. So there’s even possibility if they have opportunity, I will not be alive,” he said.

Obi claimed he experiences frustration every day and accused the government of targeting him personally, saying he believes there is official interference in many aspects of his life.

He also recounted an incident at an airport where, according to him, airport officials locked his car while allowing others to park in the same area.

“I said it’s me. The person on the system said it doesn’t care… He locked my car in front of me and said you’re not supposed to park here, but there are cars here. So what is the exception to my own?” Obi said.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate further alleged that some people are now afraid to publicly associate with him because they fear becoming targets.

“I know people at the airport who will not greet me because they are saying that if they greet me, they become targets… People send me invitations and then plead with me not to attend because they are afraid,” he added.
