Mrs. Toyin Nwosu, wife of Steve Nwosu, the Deputy Managing Director of Sun Group of Newspapers. Mrs. Steve Nwosu, has regained her freedom.

Mrs. Nwosu was whisked away in a boat by armed kidnappers who stormed their residence in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos at about 2am on Monday, September 14.

“She was released over-night somewhere in Lagos,” a source close to Mr. Nwosu told News Express.

The Management of The Sun newspaper however confirmed that Mrs Nwosu was released in the early hours of today, adding that “the kidnappers had dropped her off near Zenith Bank by Festac Bridge and sped off with their boat.”

Festac shares a boundary with Amuwo Odofin.

The kidnappers had demanded N100 million as ransom but News Express could not confirm whether or not any money was paid or how much, if any, was paid to secure the release of the mother of four whose kidnap sparked outrage across Nigeria. (News Express Ngr)
