Nigeria’s 36 state governors have been scheduled to meet with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo today to conclude his consultative sessions in relation to recent ethnic agitations.

In a tweet by the presidency on Tuesday, it stated: ”Tomorrow AgP @ProfOsinbajo will meet with all State Governors to conclude his consultative sessions in relation to recent ethnic agitations.”

Osinbajo had earlier met with northern and southern opinion leaders to condemn the wave of ethnic agitation and hate speeches in the country.

The acting president also met with northern and southern traditional rulers in the country in his bid to prevent violence in the country occasioned by call on the Igbo people to leave northern states by the northern youths. (PM News)

  1. There must be Unity of Purpose to reduce ethnic tension. The Ag president will use this opportunity to begin true healing of the country by getting the 36 governors to discuss fully the Restructuring of the country as approved by the 2014 National Convention which was well represented by all the peoples of Nigeria. When approved by the governors the Resolution must immediately be forwarded to the National Assembly for discussion and approval. The AG. President must then sign the Document as a first step to Devolution and restructuring the country. I hope all talks of separation or autonomy of one section or another must cease automatically and then any person from any part of the country seeking to divide Nigeria must be arrested for TREASON AND TREATED ACCORDINGLY. Those who have ears must hear.
