Anxiety over Ajimobi’s health

Former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, is alive and not dead.

There were reports making the rounds Thursday evening that Ajimobi reportedly died from complications arising from COVID-19.

Tweeting the demise of the two-term Oyo Governor, an investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, quoted a source he referred has never for once failed him with reliable news in six years thus

“A source who has never failed me in six years of knowing him has just confirmed to me the death, in Lagos today, of Abiola Ajimobi, former Governor of Oyo State, due to underlying health conditions worsened by the Coronavirus.”

But his media aide, Bolaji Tunji took to his Facebook page to debunk the news. He urged the public to disregard the rumours, saying that Ajimobi is still alive.

His post read: “Kindly disregard all the rumours, just rumours. In all, we remain prayerful.”

Also, the daughter, Fatima Ajimobi-Ganduje, denouncing the rumour, stated in a tweet that “our father is still alive, alhamdulillah”.

Two days ago, Ajimobi was appointed as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
