Former Anambra State governor, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife has warned against alleged plans by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to frame-up former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
He gave the warning in reaction to Obasanjo’s statement released on Friday alleging that Buhari was trying to frame him up and prosecute him on false charges.
Ezeife in a statement on Friday said Buhari’s attempt to pull Obasanjo down will fail.
Any attempt to frame-up Obasanjo would turn out to be the final bus stop for the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
His statement reads in part: “Buhari will not, should not and cannot harass former President Obasanjo for his political views. There are boundaries to everything we do in life, there are boundaries.”
On what could happen if Obasanjo is arrested, he said: “It means that the system has completely broken down. They were doing it to Igbo people, the pull Igbo down.”
“They started with Ibeto, they went to Capital Oil, they went to Innoson, then they went to all those who were importing containers, their containers were being seized.”
“So, when they were doing pull Igbo down, we only lamented but if he wants to pull Obasanjo down, he will pull himself down.”
