According to reports, scores of people are feared dead following twin explosions in the vicinity of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).
A report by Daily Trust says that the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Damian Isuku has mobilized his men to the scene of the blast for on the spot assessment of the situation.
It quoted Borno State Police Spokesman Victor Isuku as confirming to journalists the early Monday morning explosions.
The report says that Isuku noted that the blast happened during early morning prayers by Muslim faithful, and promised to provide more details later.
UNIMAID students are said to have been locked up in their hostels as a result of the deadly blasts.
