A Kaduna State high court on Friday issued an arrest warrant against the chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Muhammed Isah, for contempt of court.

The warrant of arrest was issued by Justice Mario Mohammed after the CCB chairman had ignored several summons by the court in a suit between Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i and Today’s publishing Company Limited, and one other.

Mr El-Rufai had sued the newspaper, claiming it made a false publication about his asset declaration.

Earlier, Today Publishing company, the publisher of The Union Newspapers had filed application requesting the court to subpoena CCB Chairman to produce assets declaration of El-Rufai in court after several failed efforts it made to obtain it from the CCB.

According to the court, the CCB Chairman had failed to honour different summons of the court.

The court urged all police personnel and authorities to effect the arrest. The court adjourned the matter to February 13.
