The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, has ordered the demotion and immediate transfer of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ikenne Division of Ogun State, Patrick Onwu, who beat up a female traffic warden, Anifat Bello, for stopping his private car at NNPC junction, on IBB Boulevard in Ogun state on Monday April 11.
Arase, who got to know about the incident while reading a national daily, called the state commissioner of police and ordered that Onwu be demoted to a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from Superintendent of Police(SP).
Arase has also ordered that his file be transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja so that further disciplinary actions can be taken.
