This was made known by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, Chukwuka Utazi, who led other members of the committee to Enugu State.
Utazi, speaking with correspondents said: “We have also made provisions for special funding for the EFCC. Going forward, the EFCC will keep two per cent of whatever it recovers for its operational cost.
“There is a bill for an Act to amend the EFCC laws. We will pass the bill next week. ‘’We have made provisions for the EFCC to auction seized assets.”
We have big plans to ensure that things are working well for the EFCC.”
Utazi noted that the Senate was prepared to contribute its quota to the ongoing anti-corruption fight, which necessitated the committee’s nationwide visit to offices of government agencies handling corruption-related cases.

  1. “Oh what a crock…!” This is the impetus for corruption; this is indeed how the country’s corrupt practices linger on.

The EFCC should not and are not entitled to 2, 3, or 4 percent of whatever they recover; this is not for the EFCC to decide or the chairman of the subcommittee to decide. The EFCC should be fighting to recover as much loots as possible because that is their job, no matter their operational cost.

The amount of money or percentage of what EFCC gets has to be dependent on their budget. By this man saying that makes it seem as if the EFCC is a “bounty hunter.” “How much money has this man been promised by the EFCC.”
