Ekiti Chief Judge, ready to swear-in Fayose

October 14, 2014. Justice Ayodeji Daramola, the chief judge of Ekiti State appears to be ready for Ayo Fayose’s inauguration coming up on October 16.

The chief Judge who has been in the news lately due to the crisis rocking the state’s judiciary arising from some suits filed by a group known as E-11 to stop Fayose’s inauguration may have demanded for the inauguration programme from Fayose’s camp to be able to key into the ceremony, according to an unconfirmed Nigerian Tribune source.

The inauguration programme was reportedly specifically demanded by Daramola, in order for the state’s judiciary to build its own participation into it, for a smooth inauguration ceremony.

Fayose’s camp, according to close sources reportedly told Daramola’s emissary that the inauguration programme was not yet ready. They might have said this to Daramola’s emissary due to lack of trust.

Tension is still palpable over an alleged plot to stop the inauguration, with yet-to-be confirmed report that a last-minute ex parte injunction might be obtained from a Lagos high court tomorrow, restraining Daramola from going ahead with the swearing-in.

It was also learnt that NJC, at its meeting on Monday, directed Daramola to open courts in the state and resume full activities. How this would be done is not known yet because the civil servants in the state are on strike which was declared by the state’s chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress as a result of non-payment of their August and September salaries.
