Embattled former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Pension Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, has said that the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu knows his whereabouts.

Maina disclosed that the EFCC boss is in the know that he is in Nigeria and working with the anti-graft agency to apprehend pension thieves.

The embattled former Pension boss made the claim while reacting to a question that Magu went on air saying he would go to Dubai, United Kingdom, UK, America and ensure he was arrested and brought back to face justice.

While speaking with The Sun newspaper, the elusive ex-Pension task team chairman said, “When I heard him that day I laughed. You know why I laughed? I laughed because Nigerians were being taken for a ride. How could Magu that I respect so much say that?

“But he lied. How can you say you are going to fetch me in Dubai, USA, UK when you know I am here in Nigeria with you. When you know I have been in Nigeria for ages.

“When you know I have been working with you; common, common. I am tired of this and I feel I am not getting justice.”

  1. “Hahahaha…!” This is something I heard from an 8 year-old child a couple of days ago: “Can this situation get any more ridiculouser…?”

To that, I ask this question: “Can this Maina and Magu (EFCC), and the Nigerian government game with the pension fund embezzler get any more ridiculouser?” Is this man, Maina, a criminal or not? I think this is the question that many of us are struggling with; I mean, the way the EFCC and the federal government (Buhari’s administration) is handling it.

When it comes to fighting corruption, Nigeria is already the laughing stock of the world, but does the federal government have to compound the situation this much with this Maina case? Nigerians have already figured out that Buhari’s administration fight against corruption is a joke, that Mr. Buhari was using that concept to win election in 2015…among other things. But to flatly play this foolish game with Nigerians in this manner, is absolutely ridiculous,

A couple of months ago, the head of the civil service commission indicated that the President was briefed on the dangers of hiring Mr. Maina, after he absconded with our money, and his subsequent double promotion. Today, it is Mr. Maina saying that Mr. Magu of the EFCC knows quiet well that he is in Nigeria all this while. Tomorrow he will show his face, tell everyone where exactly he is and then, challenge EFCC, the Nigerian government, or anyone to come and arrest him. And this is Buhari’s fight against corruption? Welcome to Nigeria!
