Federal govt of Nigeria to build more dams in Ekiti for agricultural development

Related imageThe Federal Government is to build 10 dams in Ekiti State within the next two years as part of its effort to improve agriculture in the state.

During a meeting with farmers and relevant stakeholders in the agricultural sector in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh said the Federal Government was also doing all within its power to put an end to the menace of herdsmen.

On the issue on Fulani herdsmen, the Minister said the Federal Government was working assiduously to put an end to the menace.

On his part, Governor Ayodele Fayose urged Federal Government to march words with action, saying his administration would provide all necessary support.

The Governor added that his administration has also provided soft loans and lands for farmers in the state.

Ekiti State is the third state visited by the Minster as part of its tour of southwest state to interact with farmers. (Channelstv)
