There's a plot to arrest my brother - El-Rufai claims

In Kaduna, the Federal High Court granted former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai bail in the sum of N200 million in an ICPC case, with two sureties in like sum, but ordered that he remain in ICPC custody until the conditions are met.

He must, however, remain in ICPC custody until strict conditions — including two sureties (one a Grade Level 15 civil servant and the other a traditional ruler), passport deposit, a ban on public comments about the case, and regular court attendance — are fully met.

However, the Kaduna State High Court adjourned its own bail hearing to April 21, 2026, without concluding the matter.

The Federal High Court imposed a ₦200 million bail bond with two sureties.

One of the sureties is required to present a Certificate of Occupancy for a landed property, while the second must be a respected elder in Kaduna State, verified by the Kaduna State Council of Elders.

The court further ordered that El-Rufai and his legal team must not grant media interviews until the trial is concluded.

He is also required to report monthly to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and deposit his international passport with the court.
