
Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been laid to rest in Abuja, Nigeria.
She was laid to rest on Sunday following her death in Cairo, Egypt.
Hajiya Umma passed away on Friday while undergoing medical treatment in the Egyptian capital.
Her body was brought to Abuja on Sunday, where burial rites were observed according to Islamic tradition.
Funeral prayers (Janazah) took place at the National Mosque, Abuja, before she was interred at Gudu Cemetery.
The funeral attracted a wide array of heavyweight political personalities, including current and former public office holders as well as leaders of opposition parties.
Dignitaries in attendance included former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi; former Minister, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami; and former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and.
