Former Nigerian Senator who represented the Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye has spoken about his wealth, political career and views on the state of the nation of Nigeria.
In an interview with KAA Truths, Melaye revealed that he owns more than 200 cars and said he continues to add to his collection despite what people say about him.
Melaye also denied ever securing government contracts at either the state or federal level. According to him, politics should not be treated as a business or a means of livelihood.
He argued that the perception of politics as a source of wealth is one reason people fight intensely for positions in the National Assembly and governorship.
Melaye said: “I have over 200 cars and I’m still collecting more. I don’t care what people say about me. I have never done government contracts, state or federal. Politics is not supposed to be a business in Nigeria. But because people see it as a business and a means of livelihood, that is why they’re dying and fighting to go to the National Assembly and become governors. Look at the rate of kidnapping and killing going on in this government.”
