INEC declares Bayelsa Governorship election inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa state inconclusive following the cancellation of the voting in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State.

The electoral body decided to cancel the election in this particular Local government area because ‎of violence, abduction of electoral officials and ballot box snatching during the election. A new date for a rerun is yet to be announced by INEC.
