Former Director General of Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Dr. Joe Abah, has stumbled on the N5bn worth of stoves bought by the Jonathan administration, abandoned at the National Stadium, Abuja.

Abah, during his visit to the National stadium, found that the stadium, although deserted because many say it had been overtaken by herdsmen who were using it graze their cattle, is in good shape.

He also discovered thousands of cooking stoves and gas cylinders abandoned at the stadium.

Read his Twitter post below:

“Next, we went to see the Velodrome. Magnificent structure but, inside, it was full of thousands of cooking stoves & gas cylinders. I understand that we paid N5 BILLION for them in May 2015, just before the handover of power. They’re still there, abandoned.”

A few days ago, I asked what had even happened to our National Stadium in Abuja. Many said it had been overtaken by herdsmen who were using it graze their cattle. My friend @rikkialakija picked me up from home to go see for myself. We spent 2 hours. This is what I saw. Thread!

One guy said “The government releases N3 BILLION every year to maintain the facilities but not N1 gets here. Someone offered N500,000 to take over the swimming pool but they said No. You know why, Oga? If they accept concessioning generally, the N3 billion will stop!” 😳😓
