Kidnapped ex-gov Wamakko’s aide found dead

Remains of Alhaji Abba Gidan Haki, a personal aide of former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, who was abducted by some unknown gunmen on Thursday in Sokoto, has been found.

His body was found on the road to Durbawa in the Kware local Government of Sokoto state.

The remains of the 50-year-old Haki have been interred according to Islamic rites.

Haki’s funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of the Sheikh Uthman Bin Fodiyo Juma’at Mosque, Sokoto, Sheikh Abubakar Shehu Na Liman.

The funeral was attended by Wamakko; the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Dingyadi; the state acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Isa Achida; traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, members of the national and state assemblies, serving and retired civil servants, as well as thousands of sympathisers.

He is survived by a wife and five children. May he rest in peace.
