This is a rare picture, said to be that of Lagosians boarding a commuter bus at Tinubu Terminus in 1943. This is exactly 77 years ago when many of us were not born.

Looking at this picture, you’ll see that the spirit of rushing visited Lagos state long time ago. Up till this very moment, that spirit has sworn not to leave Lagos because the rush keeps getting much day by day.

See again, almost everybody getting ready to board the bus was bare-footed as if there were no shoes in Lagos part of Nigeria at that time. Shoes looked like luxury at the time or was it a taboo?

As seen on the bus, the bus moves from Lagos to Yaba. Traveling from Lagos (Lagos Island) to Yaba spans about 3.3km which is about 10 minutes drive.

We had this type of commuter buses which were followed by Lagos City Transport Service also known as Lagos Municipal Transport Service (LMTS). There were also Oshinowo Transport Service and Benson Transport Service before the rough reign of Molues and Danfos.
