Medical Director of National Ear Care Center slumps during prayers, dies

•Late MD of National Ear Care Center, Dr. Aminu Bakari.Medical Director of the National Ear Care Center, Kaduna, Dr. Aminu Bakari, is dead.

Family sources said he died on Monday at a private hospital in Kaduna around 7:27 p.m. after a brief illness.

“He slumped while performing ablution for magrib prayers around 6:47pm this night and was immediately rushed to Giwa Hospital where he died,” a family source confirmed.

“He is scheduled to be buried according to Islamic right tomorrow (today) by 1pm in Kaduna,” the source said.

Late Bakari is survived by one wife and three children.

Dr. Bakari, an indigene of Adamawa State, was an Associate Professor of Ear Nose Throat Surgery at Ahmadu Bellow University (ABU) Zaria.

He was a pioneer member of staff and the Head of Clinical Services at the National Ear Care Center from 2003 to 2007. He transferred his services to ABU Zaria but was later appointed MD of the Center in 2014.
