Fiery cleric, Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly has blatantly stated that neither of the leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nor the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) could rescue Nigeria from its long-time woes and calamities.
Disclosing this while ministering in a programme titled: ‘Pathway to National Rebirth and Transformation’ broadcast by Channelstv on Sunday, the renowned cleric explained that “APC is screwed up. PDP is screwed up. Neither can rescue Nigeria. Before they ask you to go and vote, they already know who to give the power to behind the back door. You can quote me on the high mountain.”
He said further that “as long as Nigerians continue to vote for thugs, hyenas, jackals, they will continue to devour the land.”
Commenting on the anti-corruption crusade of the current administration, Bakare asked: “How has the fight against corruption helped us so far? Who has been jailed? Who will be jailed? Whose treasury was even looted? Please let us put up our thinking cap on. Now, they are forming committee to define restructuring. It’s a lie. Don’t they have dictionary? Don’t they have Webster’s Dictionary? Committees are always short in minute but short in hours.”
Speaking further, he described former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan as well as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and current President Muhammadu Buhari as “colonial masters,” recalling that Obasanjo ruled for eight years and electricity did not improve. He asked: “Who asked him where he kept all the monies? Was he held accountable?”
Speaking ironically on Mr Babatunde Fashola, Pastor Bakare quipped: “My brother, with three caps, Minister of Works, Power and Housing, is doing his best but my generating set is still supplying my electricity. Works, we have not seen. Power, we have not seen. Housing, we have not seen.”
He prayed that light will come out of the darkness, which he described as “veil” covering the progress of this nation.
Very interesting! But no solution has been provided by the Fiery cleric. It is as if the cleric does not read the Bible carefully and believe in it. Was there civilization before Jesus? Was there corruption and all the evils of today? What did he do? There was female infanticide armed robbery (in fact the companion Gifari was an armed robber of magnificent scale)fornication adultery excessive alcoholism corruption deprivation of the poor by the rich hatred deception etc. The question is: What made the then Levi clan the Aws and Khazraj tribes of Madina invite Muhammad to come to them and settle their disputes? Was the Torah (Old Testament) and the New Testament Shari’ah incapable of setting disputes? No! The problem was they read them but refused to implement the Shari’ah. The first Shari’ah Muhammad brought to life was reviving the Biblical Law governing strangers and immigrants. Can the Shari’ah of Muhammad reviving previous ones be applied to cure our ailments?
