The Baga attack and the success of the Boko Haram sect there looks unusual. Reports say the attack came about the second day the Nigerian military moved the arms and ammunition to Baga to be used against the terror sect but reverse was the case. This led to losses in human, material and location.

So, more than 10 senior Nigerian Army officers, including a Brigadier-General and a Lt. Col. who were supposed to be in charge of the area during the attack have been arrested and are presently telling the military hierarchy what they know about the Baga attack by the insurgent group, Boko Haram.

According to the Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, the senior army officers are being investigated for allegedly shirking in their responsibilities during the attack by the militants. (Photo credit: LIB)
