Sequel to the ultimatum issued by Muslim group, MURIC to popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana aka Falz to withdraw ‘This is Nigeria’ video, Nigerians are talking.

MURIC, in a statement by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, issued a seven days ultimatum to Falz to withdraw the video which had girls wearing hijab dancing ‘Shaku Shaku’, according to Daily post.

In the ultimatum, the group said the girls who were a representation of the abducted Chibok girls still in Boko Haram captivity did not depict the situation of the girls in any way.

This has stirred reactions online as some Nigerians have condemned the Muslim group for their reaction and condemnation.

Some Muslims have even reacted in the positive to the video, as they criticised MURIC for not giving ultimatum to Boko Haram and herdsmen.

Falz, who is the son to foremost human rights activist and lawyer, Femi Falana is, however, yet to respond to the ultimatum.

Below are some of the reactions by Nigerians as gathered by Daily Post on Twitter:

@_Munique, “I’m a Muslim but please let us reason this. Where was MURIC when Boko Haram and herdsmen were slaughtering Christians and Muslims. Falz video also represented bot Muslims and Chistians in this video, so what is the issue?”

“As a Muslim, I’m not even offended but I felt Falz should have done a better representation of the Chibok girls.”
@Ilynem “Wait! Muslims don’t mock Christian teachings? How do you even know Falz is a Christian? Do you know the video openly mocked some Christians? Do you see us crying? ”

@Ayamprestige “Withdraw what music? The one that has gone Viral? That Diddy himself has Posted and talked about? They must be Joking. It’s a message through Art which we all understood to be Dapchibok girls. #ThisIsNigeria is one the best video I have seen in a decade. Falz all the way jare.”

@Samuelosota “Their reasons are quite… Funny, to say the least. For them to effortlessly turn a political eye opening video to something about religion is beyond me. Exactly why the country is where it is.”

@Wizilanizi “This bunch of illiterates are the ones dragging us back as a nation. Imagine a Nigeria without then.”

@Iamjoshy “Is there anything in that Video that is a lie? They wont face reality nw! @falzthebahdguy.”

@Timbus “So a Muslim group has issues with Falz’s “This is Nigeria” music video. “They had rather he left the ravaging issues unaddressed. Pfft!”

@Gonen888 “If I was Falz I’d send the MURIC guys videos of freed Chibok girls dancing after their release and reunion with their parents “MURIC needs to focus on more important issues.They and CAN are always pursuing things that add zero value to Nigerians.”

@Ayoletthemknow, “Part of what is killing us in this country is IGNORANCE. Falz just passed a serious message to Nigerians trough that video. but i wonder what some group of people see it has an insult to there religion, as if there been holy as helped move the county forward.”

@Riqueza_cakes “I’m a Muslim and I thank Allah that I don’t belong to this Muslim group that feels intimidated by Falz music video!”

@PrincessDennis “Don’t duplicate your faith #ThisIsNigeria I am a Christian, I stand with Falz.”
