Oshiomhole’s lavish wedding is gross disrespect to his late wife and insensitivity to his children’s feelings

Everyone including any governor in Nigeria has a right to privacy. Everyone including any governor in Nigeria also has a right to happiness and intimacy. We on this platform are aware of that and therefore not going to deny the comrade of our time, Adams Oshiomhole those inalienable rights especially at a time that he is supposed to be enjoying a honeymoon with his wife. We will not go into the kernel of the affairs between the comrade and his newly found love and wife, but we will come on him on his choice or the kind of celebration to usher into his life, his beautiful and young wife.

Oshiomhole can choose to marry the most beautiful lady in the world. That is also his right. Since such a lady is no longer a minor and whether or not she has weighed the pros and cons of the decision she was about to make before going into the relationship should not be our cup of tea. The decision to marry themselves is purely Oshiomhole’s and his new wife’s prerogative.

Our concern on this platform is that, not only should age bring about relative maturity, knowledge and thoughtfulness, a very high public position in a society is meant to teach the followers to know and do what is reasonable at all time. The position of a governor of a state is also to teach standard etiquette to followers even in matters of private life. If a person notably known as comrade has not done enough in that direction, it must be humbly pointed out to him and to serve as a lesson to others.

We assume that if Oshiomhole’s first wife had not died of cancer, he would not be contemplating of marrying another woman which he just did. He did not cause the death of his first wife and so, we are not saying that he should not remarry. Our concern is that, as he is going to remarry, he ought to do the wedding, showing greatest respect to his late wife, the circumstances of her death and the sensibilities of his first wife’s family and the children born to him by her.

The bottom line is that such a wedding ought to be low-keyed and simple, devoid of the noise and open break-dancing by a 63-year old man it attracted. (Image: iTV, Google).

  1. Comrade Governor has no morals to teach and bequeath on his followers instead he is a bad influence in women affairs.
