Osun House of Assembly minority leader, Oladejo Makinde, is dead

The Osun State House of As­sembly has announced the death of its member, Olade­jo Makinde. Until his death, the late Makinde was the minority leader of the House.

Oladejo Makinde, who rep­resented Ife Central Con­stituency, died on Sunday afternoon at Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, during an undisclosed illness. Makinde, a member of Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was former chairman of Ife Central Local Gov­ernment Area of the state.

His corpse has been de­posited at Ekiti State Teach­ing Hospital mortuary. The Chairman, Osun Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, confirmed the development.

Oyintiloye said members received the news with a rude shock, noting, how­ever, that the late Makinde was one of the assembly’s pillars, who contributed meaningfully to the state’s political development.

Osun state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Gani Olaolu­wa, confirmed Makinde’s death and also disclosed that he died of health complications.
