Commenting on the situation, Oba Babalola warned against resorting to violence. “We have been told the runaway legislators are coming back to Ekiti State and that impeachment notice has been served. I don’t know whether that is true, but we need to give peace a chance and allow the Obas to come in to deliberate on the matter.

“We have made attempts severally to settle the dispute between the executive and legislative arms. The legislators did not answer us. “I don’t know why coming to Ekiti should involve impeachment. We will hold a meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the matter.

“People should maintain peace and people should not be disallowed from doing their businesses. The court is there for adjudication and we should make use of that,” he said. (Credit: Vanguard).

  1. Gov Ayo Fayose should be held responsible. In a decent society and as the State CEO you don’t result into street fight anytime you are aggrieved or you don’t want anything to be done to you.
You simply approach the Court for redress or an injunction. Last year With his supporters distrupted the court/tribunal proceedings.
Again on Monday his Deputy, Public Communications Director and Supporters prevented the third tier of government from conducting house business. This is absurd and lawlessness. It has never happened in the history of our Country for an Executive Governor to always result into distruption of Judiciary and Legislature.

This Executive lawlessness and state of anarchy must stop

  2. THE OBAS NOW WANT TO INTERVENE AS WELL AS CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS, WHERE WERE THEY WHEN FAYOSE USED SEVEN LEGISLATORS TO REMOVE 19 AND THE SEVEN PRODUCED A SPEAKER, WHO WAS SUPPORTED BY THE GOVERNOR, NOW THE 19 WHERE CHASE OUT OF EKITI SINCE LAST YEAR, ALL THESE WHILE NOBODY CRIED OUT…..FAYOSE IF CARE IS NOT TAKEN WILL HAVE THE REPUTATION OF THE ONLY GOVERNOR THAT HAS BEEN IMPEACHED TWICE.
