Pastor Jimmy Odukoya introduces new wife to congregation

Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church (FOLC), Lagos, Nigeria, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, has introduced his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya, to his congregation.

Jimmy made the announcement during Sunday service on November 1, 2026, at the church headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos State.

A day before, he had posted an image of two hands with wedding rings on his Instagram page, with the caption “To New Beginnings.”

Jimmy, in 2013, married his ex-wife, Oluwakemi Banjoko, in London. They had two children together before their separation.

Premised on his previous marriage, the post drew speculation among his followers about whether he had been engaged to another woman, with some already sending their congratulatory messages.

But, all came to light on Sunday as Jimmy introduced his new wife.

In what seemed like a moment which the congregants were anticipating, the senior pastor jokingly said, “You people just like gists. It’s time to go home.”

The congregation shouted, “No!”

The pastor then taunted them with the saying, “New beginning,” in relation to his Saturday Instagram post, and they all screamed cheerfully with applause.

Before making the anticipated announcement, Jimmy asked the church pianist to play a “lovable” instrumental in the background, after which he made a few dance moves to show excitement.

Then, Jimmy stated that since he took leadership of the church, he had been single for some time before finding his new partner, as he drew admonition from the Holy Bible.

He said: “So, you know, ever since I became your pastor, I was doing this walk of life alone, and you know, the Bible said it is not good; it said I will find somebody suitable. When Adam saw it, he said, ‘ This is the flesh of my flesh,  bone of my bone, my left and right rib.’ So, I was looking and searching, and I found.

“There are what we call Kairos moments. You say Kairos moments, when the Kairos moments. I’m sure some of you saw the post. Somebody, some people say, is it artwork? Is it, is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, no, no, it’s my wife.

“Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you, for the first time, Pastor Mrs Odukoya. And your first lady, and my wife. Let me be a gentleman. Pastor Mo Odukoya. Please bring out my wife, please.”

Mo Odukoya, the daughter of Revd. Titus Daniel and Revd. Mrs Bolaji Daniel, walked out as the congregation stood to welcome her.

For blessing, the senior pastor then called on his late mother’s brother, the Founder and Serving Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Pastor Tunde Bakare, whom he described as someone who has a long history with his mother’s family, calling Bakare a “voice of wisdom.”

In his own remarks, Bakare stated that he was aware of all challenges and issues that were faced by the church, but maintained confidence that such challenges would be overcome, as he prayed for the repose of Odukoya’s late parents.

Bakare added that the couple got married in the United States, but he didn’t know when they tied the knot.

He prayed for God’s blessing on the union, as he also sought God’s protection and growth for the church.

“In the name of Jesus. Father, we bless you in the name of the Lord for this day. We are not here to sweep anything under the carpet. All things must be done decently and in order. We give you glory and praise because you have begun a good work, and you will perfect it in the life of your son and his wife, in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, when you show up, you don’t take sides.

“You take over. We ask that you take over the Fountain of Life Church from this day forward. Let it expand. Let it grow. I bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Your union will be a power union. Your family and household will be the centre of kingdom activities. What you abandon now is bound in heaven. What is set loose on earth is set loose in heaven.

“This home is built on the foundation of peace and stability, and love of God. Nothing will desecrate it. Nothing will dismantle it. It will wax stronger and stronger daily, and it will become an example to follow, and not a mistake to avoid,”
