The National Chairman of Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae has been attacked by Fulani herdsmen on his farm at Ilu-Abo in Akure, the Police said on Monday.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wole Ogodo, told newsmen in Akure that Falae was attacked on Monday morning and taken away.

He said that contrary to earlier reports, “it wasn’t a case of kidnap but an attack by Fulani herdsmen.”

The police spokesman said Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was taken away while some of his workers were seriously wounded.

Ogodo said no fewer than 50 policemen had been deployed to the area to search for him.

A family source, who preferred anonymity, said that the kidnappers had called to ask for N100 million as ransom. (NAN)
