Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday looted a warehouse reportedly belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency over the current economic hardship across the country.
It was learnt that the warehouse is situated in the Phase 3 Region of the FCT area of Abuja.
The voice of a man who was present at the scene was heard in a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), narrating how many people were breaking into the warehouse and looting different food items at sight.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the spokesperson for the FCT command, Josephine Adeh, verified the incident in a text message saying, “The situation is now under control.”
There have been series of protests around the country over hunger and severe hardship currently facing the people of Nigeria.
