The Senator representing Delta North District in the Nigerian Senate, Peter Nwaboshi, has declared that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would produce the next Senate President in the event that it’s current occupant, Dr. Bukola Saraki, is removed.
There have been fears in some quarters that PDP was plotting to take over the senate should the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) indict and remove Saraki from office. Similarly, stakeholders have warned leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to tread carefully.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, Nwaoboshi, who heads the Senate committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), said PDP was ready to replicate the current system in the United States of America, where the Republican Party is in charge of the parliament, while the Democrats are in control of the executive.
He said: “Well, I wish APC the best of luck if they are making that wild goose chase. But I want you to mark my word; I was the first to address the press in Port Harcourt and I told them that Saraki was going to win the Senate Presidency and I gave them my reasons. Then, nobody ever thought Saraki was going to win. People were saying APC had decided. But it was clear to me that he was going to win.
“I said Saraki was going to win and he was going to get my vote. Eventually, we went there and he won. If, but God forbid, by chance, Saraki is removed; I can tell you that PDP will produce the next Senate President.”
Speaking on how PDP would get the support of few APC lawmakers to produce the next senate president, Nwaoboshi said: “We only need three and we have it. (Daily Sun)

Mr. Nwaoboshi is so misinformed, the Republicans are rules the US Senate because they have the majority. He should worry about his minority in the Senate and stop threatening and get their asses back to bringing the Country into respectability.
