The Southwest zonal Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Vice Chairman, Mr. Olasoji Adagunodo is dead. He died on Tuesday evening at the age of 62.

Close sources to Adagunodo, revealed that the politician travelled to the United States (US) shortly after the general elections for a routine medical checkup but he did not come back.

The Media Assistant to Osun State Governor, Hon. Seyi Adeniyi confirmed his demise in a Facebook post, saying, “Southwest PDP Chair, Soji Adagunodo is dead.”

Mr. Adagunodo, a former chairman of the Osun chapter of the PDP, assumed office as the Southwest chairman of the party in 2021 after his predecessor Taofeek Arapaja was elected Deputy National Chairman (DNC) of the party.

He led the party’s Southwest zone through the Ekiti and Osun states governorship elections and was until his death widely respected for his strides.

He had a running battle with Governor Ademola Adeleke before the latter emerged as the party’s candidate in the last election.
