Special Assistant to Governor on Stomach Infrastructure

By Dr. Sam Aruleba

At the dawn of Dr Fayemi’s four year reign in Ekiti, “Fountain of Knowledge” the catchphrase with which Ekiti was identified has once again been brought back to its glorious reckoning by the new government of Mr Ayo Fayose in place of the little appreciated ‘Ile iyi, ile eye’. Now basking in abundant knowledge, Fayose is aware that a new invention of whatever would possibly be admired by his people.

As John Mckenroe “a one-time great American Tennis player” would say, “you cannot be serious”, many on the other side of political divide in Ekiti would see nothing good in Fayose’s administration even before it kicks off. Moreover, the new Governor was more than being serious when he mooted his preparedness to focus on creating stomach infrastructures in the land instead of the generic social and economic infrastructures we are used to.

That means, there is going to be a ministry of stomach infrastructure somewhere. Of course, one should not be in any illusion as to the meaning of these new social amenities. Literarily, whatever goes into our stomach means foods and liquids that strengthen the whole body and keep it functioning properly. But stomach infrastructure is hell of a strange social phenomenon just like Fayose’s tag name – Oshokomole.

In politics, they say there is no permanent friend or foe. As we speak, the hints of some APC members on Ekitipanupo forum crossing to PDP is becoming more real than imagined.

There is no shame in this development. Now is becoming clearer by the minutes why Fayose has decided to create the ministry of stomach infrastructure. APC decampees for their trouble would have to be appointed commissioners for stomach infrastructure. After all, under Dr Fayemi, this class of supporters that once spat fire and brimstone at the opposition were known as jeun-jeun politicians. They have no focus, no integrity and no personality. They are best described as any government in power (AGIP) politicians.
