The Ooni Olubuse II, Oba Okunade Sijuwade has joined his ancestors

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade has joined his ancestors. The Ooni Olubuse II died at the age of 85. Family sources say he died at about 5:00pm today after a brief illness. The late Ooni was reportedly flown to UK in an air ambulance after he went into coma following his illness.

The Alayeluwa, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who was born in 1930, was installed as the fiftieth traditional ruler of Ife in 1980. The late Olubuse II is survived by wives and children. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
