Wakili: Why We Released Detained OPC Members – Oyo Police • NgospelMedia.Net

Members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) detained by the Oyo State Police Command for arresting notorious Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakili, have been released on bail.

It was gathered that the police released the three detained OPC operatives on health grounds for them to seek medical attention.

The Punch reports that the OPC Coordinator in Oyo State, Rotimi Olumo, disclosed this in a telephone interview on Tuesday.

Olumo said, “The three men were released on bail today from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku, Ibadan.

“The police released them on health condition; the three men are seriously ill and need urgent medical attention.

“The police said the three of them should report regularly at the state CID for the ongoing investigation.”

Olumo had also said the men were not moved from the state to Abuja as reported in some sections of the media.

The OPC handed over Wakili, accused of terrorising villages in the Ibarapa area of the state, to the Oyo State Police Command, on Sunday but the police subsequently detained three OPC operatives for allegedly burning down Wakili’s house and killing an unknown woman in the process.

The OPC said the murder and arson allegations were false, adding that it immediately handed over Wakili and three of his accomplices to the police in Igboora after their arrest.

Before Wakili’s arrest, farmers and residents of Ayete, Kajola and neighbouring villages in Ibarapaland lived in perpetual fear of Wakili who was accused of displacing them from their farms, kidnapping their rich men and raping their women.

  1. Nigerians are becoming really sick and gaunt! How is it that Yorubaland is polluted and citizens are slaughtered by Fulani bandits brought in from Mali, Guinea, Libya, Chad and other North African countries by the Buhari regime, and they continue to kill innocent farmers in Yorubaland being sophisticatedly equipped with dangerous ammunitions and nobody arrests them. Then suddenly a Fulani Killer-machine was arrested by a self-help vigilante set-up by the people themselves and the same government that failed and continues to fail to provide security to its population (because the head of governance wants to turn the country into Islamic nation and his his ethnic possession, in a 21st century world) woke to the reality that OPC members must be arrested. It is not surprising that Buhari privatized and commoditized and turned Nigerian forces: the Army, Police, Airforce, SSS, etc. into his kitchen utensils. They arrest and prosecute you if you attack or meddle with the roaming Fulani kidnappers/killers or their cows. But these hoodlums brought in from foreign countries and equipped with Nigerian citizenship and weapons by Buhari can kill, kidnap, maim and butcher Nigerians in their farmlands with no consequence. If the various ethnic groups comprising the federation fail to realize that they are in a very serious and sordid state, so that they wake up to fight vehemently for their freedom, it will soon be too late. The leaders of these ethnic group must hold Buhari, Osibanjo, and their allies: Britain, France and other EU states accountable for the killings and instability happening in Nigeria at the moment.
