Tinubu’s candidate loses to Akeredolu in the Ondo APC guber primary

Image resultLawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu, has emerged winner of the hotly contested APC governorship primary of ONDO State. He defeated Olusegun Abraham, who is the favoured candidate of a national leader of the party and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu. Akeredolu polled a total of 669 votes to defeat Abraham who polled 635 votes.

Akeredolu will now fly the party’s flag in the governorship election scheduled for later this year. It’s the second time he would be running for the position. He lost to incumbent Olusegun Mimiko in the last governorship election in the State.

It therefore means the governorship race will effectively be a two horse race between two Senior Advocates of Nigeria. The candidate of the governing PDP in the State, Jegede, is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. (TVC)
